Nomi vs Canva
Canva is a design tool that has learned to publish ads. Nomi is a Meta strategist that reads your site, plans the campaign, and makes the ads that come out of it.
Canva is where most of the internet designs anything: a slide deck, a social post, an invitation, a print job, and lately a paid ad, all in one drag-and-drop editor with a template for nearly everything.
Canva has been adding ad tools of its own. A newer part of it called Canva Grow takes a prompt and your website link, generates a set of ads, publishes them straight to Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn, and tags what is driving performance once they are live. Nomi does not publish anywhere and reads no performance back from any account; what it does instead is plan the campaign and read the ads your competitors are running before it writes a word.
What Canva does better
Five of these are real, and the page would be worth nothing if it hid them.
- Canva Grow. It drafts ads from a prompt and your website link, publishes them to Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn, and pulls the performance numbers back through each platform's own reporting. Nomi does not publish an ad or read a number back from any account.
- A library measured in the millions. Free alone lists more than 1.6 million templates and 4.7 million photos, videos, graphics and audio. Pro adds premium content on top of that, more than 3.6 million templates and over 140 million premium assets.
- Free costs nothing, and it already ships with the ad tools above. A person who only needs a design made can get one without paying at all.
- Video. Canva turns a product photo into a video ad or a UGC-style clip. Nomi makes statics and carousels.
- Every format a business touches, not only an ad. Slide decks, social posts, documents, print jobs and invitations all come out of the same editor. Nomi makes none of them.
Canva in sixty seconds
Canva's own tagline for its newer ad tools is "Create. Launch. Learn." and that is a fair summary of the whole product, not only the ad part of it. You open a blank canvas or one of its templates, drop in your own photos and text, and export or publish straight from the page. Free costs nothing and already includes a drag-and-drop editor, over a thousand design types and a large template library. Pro and Business add more of the premium library, more storage and heavier collaboration and brand controls for a team. Around the editor Canva sells its own set of AI tools: one drafts a first pass of copy, one turns a short text prompt into an image or a short video, and others clean up or resize a photo in a click. And since Canva Grow shipped, the same account can draft an ad, push it live on Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn, and read what happened to it, without leaving Canva at all. If what you need this week is a professional-looking design of nearly any kind, made fast and for free, Canva is built exactly for that.
What a plan does that a prompt cannot
Nomi starts before you ask for anything. You give it your website, it reads your pages, and your brand, your products, your markets and your buyers come back written down as drafts you correct. Canva Grow reads a link too, but only once, to draft that one ad; nothing about your brand carries into the next prompt.
From there you ask in a sentence and it does the work. It plans the campaign, runs a pass over the ads your competitors are actually running in your market, writes the copy and the script, and makes the creative in the shapes Meta's placements take. Canva Grow goes straight from the prompt to the finished ad: there is no campaign plan behind it and no read on what else is running in your market.
The competitor pass is real ads rather than a summary of them. Ads delivered in the EU out of Meta's own ad library, what your competitors are running on Google, and what they are posting on TikTok, each one with how long it has been running.
When something is wrong with the finished ad, you point at it. Ring the spot, write what should be different there, queue as many as you noticed, and the ad is drawn again with the changes in it. Canva's own edit is the same drag-and-drop editor as everything else it makes: open the design, move the layer, retype the line, swap the photo yourself.
And Nomi writes down what it learns about the brand as it goes, in your words, where you can read it and change it. That is why the fourth ad still looks like the first one, and why nobody re-explains the brand on Monday.
Side by side
| The job | Nomi | Canva |
|---|---|---|
| What it is built to make | A Meta campaign, planned and made in one session. | Any design: a slide, a post, an invitation, a print job, and now an ad. |
| Where the ad starts | It reads your site and writes your brand, products and markets down for you to correct. | You drop in a prompt and a website link, and it drafts fresh each time. |
| Competitor research | Real ads out of Meta's ad library, plus Google and TikTok, each with how long it has been running. | Not offered. |
| Campaign planning | The audience, the structure and the copy are planned before anything is made. | Canva Grow goes straight from a prompt to a finished ad. |
| Publishing and performance | Not offered. | Canva Grow publishes to Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn and reads the performance numbers back from each one. |
| Fixing one thing | Point at the spot on the finished ad and say what should change there. | Open the drag-and-drop editor and move, retype or swap it yourself. |
| Template library | None. Every ad is drafted from what the session has read about the brand. | More than 3.6 million templates and over 140 million premium photos, videos and graphics, on Pro alone. |
| One person, one month | €59. | €0 on Free, about €9 a month on Pro when billed yearly. |
What each one costs
Canva publishes four plans. Free is €0 a year for one person and already ships with the drag-and-drop editor, over a thousand design types, more than 1.6 million templates and the ad tools above. Pro is €110 a year for one person, about €9 a month, and adds the premium library, five brand kits and more of the AI toolset. Business is €170 a year per person and adds team admin tools, a hundred brand kits and a larger AI allowance. Enterprise has no published price; Canva asks you to talk to sales.
Nomi is €59 a month for one brand and two seats, €179 for three brands and five seats, and €449 for every brand an agency has on its books, with fifteen seats.
The honest shape of it: Canva is cheaper at every tier, including free. A person who only needs a design made, of almost any kind, pays nothing and gets one. What Nomi charges for is the session that reads the site first, plans the campaign, and keeps the brand between one ad and the next, and there is no line on Canva's price list for that.
Which one to buy
Buy Canva if
- You need a design of some kind this week, not only an ad, and free is the budget.
- You want video, print, invitations or presentations, and not only the placements Meta takes.
- You already run your ad account and want a fast way to draft, publish and read performance back in one place.
- You want a library measured in the millions rather than a session that starts from what it has read about your brand.
Buy Nomi if
- You run Meta, and every ad has to look like it came from the same company as the last one.
- You want the campaign planned and the competitor pass done before anything gets made.
- You want to fix a finished ad by pointing at the thing that is wrong with it.
- You would rather pay for a plan than assemble one out of a template.
Moving over from Canva
Give Nomi your website

Correct the voice, the products and the markets once. Everything made after this reads from what you confirmed.
Ask for the first campaign
One sentence is enough. The plan, the copy and the creative come back in the shapes Meta's placements take.
Change it by pointing
Ring what is wrong on the finished ad, say what belongs there instead, and send the lot back at once.
